Most parents with children under one call me wanting a 3, 6, 9 month photo. I recommend going by your childs milestones and not how many months they are. At 3 months old...your photos will look only slightly different than their newborn session. But if you wait just 2-3 extra weeks...closer to their 4 month mark -- you will really see their personality's shining through. The milestone for these photos will be a cute smile (on demand) and an ability to really push up well.
For your 6-8 month photo, the milestone is a firm grasp of sitting up...where they won't topple over at the slightest movement. And for 9 months, it's always fun to see them crawl (just hopefully not too fast!).
Enjoy this little 4 month old...I've been taking her photos since she was in her moms belly!
