Portraits in the Park for a Photographers Kid!

Here is such a perfect example of family life around my neck of the woods. The pictures tell it all! Sometimes I look at the pictures I take for others and just yearn for a few great ones of my own children...pictures that I seem to be able to capture for my clients...but pictures that seem to be forced for the children of a photographer. Today is a great day...a sunny overcast sky. So we walked down to the park by our house. OK, I admit...the kids may have been slightly tricked thinking that the park was our main goal...when in all actuality, pictures for ME was my main goal!


But honestly...this is our family -- our family tales in a photo (or two). I'll start out with Kate. Katie will be 4 on July 7th. Katie is our sweet, sweet middle child. She is kind and gentle (but with a very loud booming voice!). She wants to please when no one else does. This is exactly what she did today -- I set out to take some new pictures of the kids today. Jake and Maddie were less than thrilled. Katie saw that, and took the opportunity to shine!










And then there is Jake. He's my model. And although he wasn't on top of his game today -- it doesn't matter with Jake!! I ALWAYS can get amazing pictures of him. It's the bubbly, adorable smile and the blond, mop of a hair cut. Jake always has a way of melting my heart and I can really see why in these pictures!















And then there is Maddie. Our feisty first born. Sometimes I think to myself...if this is how it is now, what will the teenage years be like!! I am optimistically thinking that, if this is how it is now...the high school years will be a breeze!! For my sanity, let's pray that she transforms into sweet flowing stream (rather than our roaring rapids!) Here's how the photo shoot when for Maddie. I managed one decent one..but ... well, you get the picture (literally!)





And I only got this one, because I told her to take a happy pill!!

I did manage to get a decent one of all 3 of them. Be on the look out for added items to my jewelry line. I'll be using some of the pictures that I took today to create samples. I'll be posting the samples here first.
